Peace, Love and BACON !

So, I grew up south of the Mason Dixon line, where almost every dish starts with BACON ! (Why is it I can't say even type BACON, without hearing the dog treat commercial in my head). My mother is a true southern lady.  She loves to cook, sew, has her favorite pew in church and makes the best sweet tea in the world and is always blessing hearts :).  In high school she was crowned "Miss Betty Crocker", which is something that we often tease her about, but we know EXACTLY why she won.  The woman can COOK !  This was great when I was younger because my metabolism ran at the same rate as a rocketship.  But as I get older boy has that changed, no not her cooking that is still fantastic, but now I have extra growths on each side of my body.  It has never made sense to me why they call them love handles... I do not LOVE them and they need to go.

So lately a few things happened and life is about to change. I feel sluggish, this is something that no level of caffeine will fix.  I know what you are thinking, this is just another one of those January workout plans that clogs up the gym.  No, I am not talking about working out. I am talking about total wellness.  Needless to say, this girl is tired of being tired. After talking with one of my very best friends, I have decided to join Advocare.  I have signed up for the 24-day challenge. I am stoked to start down this new path.  No, this is not me swearing off bacon forever, because Jesus above knows that this girl is a southern bell and bacon is my weakness.  I may just have to settle for some turkey bacon and save the real stuff for special occasssions.

I plan to update this blog through my challenge which starts on Jan 5th. I know you are asking, Why wait?  Well I think I am a strong person, I also know I have some weaknesses and that when making changes temptation needs to be left alone.  So I am going to the Sugar Bowl to watch my Alabama Crimson Tide whoop up on my husbands Oklahoma Sooners in New Orleans, which I lovingly refer to as NOLA.  I love NOLA, but most of all I love her beignets and coffee, this is the temptation I am referring to so I am waiting until the return of the trip to start.  At the end of the challenge I will post my before and after pics.   Wish me luck, and most of all when you say your prayers at night, can you please throw one in there for me and my willpower.  Time to get my life back !
